Noise Pollution Complaints
Excessive noise from commercial and residential sources within the unincorporated areas of the county.
Please note that complainant information such as names, phone numbers, and addresses of complaining parties are kept confidential unless subpoenaed by a court of law.
Also, noise complaints using this form should only be for unincorporated areas of the County. This County website can assist if you need to determine if an address is in an unincorporated area. You may also contact the Department of Environmental Health directly at 408-918-3400 during normal business hours (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday)
In the complaint details, please describe the following:
- The noise pollution source.
- The noise in detail (e.g., loud screech, whine, grind, bang, music, etc.).
- The frequency in which the noise is occurring (e.g., sporadically, continuously).
- The dates and times of the occurrences.
- The background noise at your location (e.g., freeway, animals, truck traffic, crickets, etc.) and list anything that you believe could interfere with measuring the primary noise.
- Any other information that would assist us in investigating the issue (e.g., a specific pattern of occurrence or schedules that can be replicated during a monitoring event)
